How to Upload your video

Steps to take for submitting videos to Mechanisms and Robotics Video Subcommittee for eventual inclusion on the Mechanisms and Robotics YouTube channel hosted at http://www.youtube.com/ASMEMechanismsRobots:

Step 1

Prepare your video in conformance with the requirements of YouTube. See following YouTube page for information on how to create your videos: http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/topic.py?topic=10521

Also see FAQs for more details on how to prepare a video and other related issues.

Step 2

Upload your video to YouTube.com. For this, you may have to create a new user id at YouTube. If you already have an account at google.com, such as for gmail.com, you may use that user id to upload your video. Please provide appropriate tags on the upload page so that your video can be placed in an appropriate category at the Mechanisms and Robotics YouTube channel. Optionally, please also provide the Date and Map information. Leave the rest of the options as defaults. Once your upload is successful, play your video and make a note of the URL (Uniform Resource Locator, a unique identifier that locates a web page on the World Wide Web) of your video shown inside a box on the right hand side. An example URL looks like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CufN43By79s

Step 3

Fill out the submission form. In the form, you would need to provide the URL of your uploaded video as you noted in Step 2. Your video will be seen by the reviewers and upon acceptance associate editors will notify you and include it at the Mechanisms and Robotics YouTube channel. Your video would be integrated on the channel as part of a playlist that represents the nature of your video. You still retain all the rights and control over the video.
